Our Story

Half Snake Art Collective was founded by artist and designer Jackson Aldern in early 2020. Inspired by art collectives in bigger cities, Jackson wanted to establish his own art community since leaving the network of student artists he greatly benefited from while in school. Doing it alone didn’t seem like much fun, but a platform by which artists and creatives could collaborate was missing. Herein Jackson saw an opportunity, and the Half Snake team began to form.

Through Half Snake’s work, we seek to answer a number of questions:

In what ways can artists make tangible change in their communities?

In what ways can artists open possibilities for each other?

In what ways can artists thrive without having to sacrifice their core values?
