Birdkiller 3

$45.00

By Grace Kennison

"This piece is part of an exploration of reciprocal relationships between humans and our seen and unseen neighbors of the natural world, represented in a series between cowgirls and birds. The laws of nature are absolute and within our lifetimes we are forced to see the consequences of settler colonial epistemologies which violate natural law- resource depletion, deforestation, extinction, large-scale climate change. The question relevant to this image has to do with how someone who has become embedded into a history of colonization could begin to repent upon considering these broken relationships with land and animals. Does humanity learn from its mistakes, how can we begin to heal this wound we have been so instrumental in creating?"

12'“ x 16" reproduction printed on fine art watercolor card stock. Image area is 11” x 15”.
