Fire and Flood

"I created this piece during the time of the intense wildfires that rampaged throughout Colorado this past year. We must remember that with fire, comes flood. This type of flooding occurs because of a charred landscape being unable to properly absorb water from rain. Ash can commingle with this water and other debris, which typically leads to devastating mudflows. Wildfires can be so wonderfully beneficial to the new growth of an environment and its soil. Yet when they rage out of control, like the many we witnessed last year, they can be vastly detrimental to Earth and her inhabitants."
